The   Bugatti Veyron Sport Equivalent features an engine power of 1,200 PS (880 kW; 1,200 bhp) and torque of 1,500 N·m (1,100 lbf·ft) and a revised aerodynamic package.

Hydraulics lower the car until it has a ground clearance of about 9 cm (3.5 in). At the same time, the wing and spoiler deploy. This is the handling mode, in which the wing helps provide 3,425 newtons (770 lbf) of downforce, holding the car to the road. The driver must, using a special key (the top speed key), toggle the lock to the left of his seat in order to attain the maximum (average) speed of 407 km/h (253 mph). The key functions only when the vehicle is at a stop, when a checklist then establishes whether the car and its driver are ready to enable top speed mode. If all systems are go, the rear spoiler retracts, the front air diffusers shut and the ground clearance, normally 12.5 cm (4.9 in), drops to 6.5 cm (2.6 in).

The lightweight steel-tube chassis mated to a powerful mid-mounted engine. The chrome-moly space frame is reinforced with honeycomb-composite panels for increased rigidity while the suspension consists of unequal-length A-arms and coil-over shocks at all four corners. Race-spec Brembo calipers tackle the braking duties accompanied by massive vented rotors, 15-in. front and 14-in. rear. The race-car chassis gains additional rollcage bracing, while the engine and suspension are tuned toward racing, but retain the street Bugatti Veyron basic configurations. The carbon-fiber mixed with Kevlar (bullet proof material) bodywork is very similar, with the Sport model also employing quick-release latches and a raised rear wing. Brake systems for both versions are identical. The carbon-fiber cloth is layered over the molds and then cured in an autoclave. In areas where extra stiffness is needed-such as the top of the fenders-half-inch aluminum-honeycomb panels are sandwiched in the carbon-fiber layers. The chassis comprises a space frame-derived design consisting 4130 lightweight steel and aluminum honeycomb composite reinforcing panels. It is divided into bolt-fastened sub-assemblies to allow for rapid access to critical subsystems.


The light weight of the chassis allows for the car to weigh a mere 2750 pounds (1247 kg). Standard electronics include: Power windows, locks, Remote control operated doors, hood, trunk, and engine compartment openers, electronic power steering with redundant safety circuits, 110 volt inlet for maintaining vehicle battery, electronic heated front window, electronic fuel pump shut off upon crash impact, rearview camera system within dash flip up monitor, and navigation. Electrical wire harnesses are manufactured with the highest quality materials Teflon coated tinned military spec wire, cannon plugs, gold plated pins and sockets were used in connectors, wire harnesses wrapped with high temp glass mesh under a woven Kevlar outer skin.
